Anniversary Tea

Little Rock-Centennial Chapter, NSDAR had an Anniversary Tea at the Old State House Museum in Little Rock on Sunday November 17, 2019 to celebrate the 125th Anniversary of the Little Rock Chapter and the 100th Anniversary of the Centennial Chapter.

The two chapters merged in 2000 to become the Little Rock-Centennial Chapter. As part of the celebration some Chapter members were reenactors dressed in period clothing depicting some of the early leaders of the chapters. Original chapter documents were also displayed on loan from the Arkansas State Archives.

We were thrilled to have other DAR chapters from Arkansas attend this event and share in the celebration with us, including State Regent Junelle Mongno and State Vice Regent Gretchen Magee.

The legacy of the two chapters lives on today supporting NSDAR through patriotism, education and historic preservation. The DAR Room in the Old State House Museum is a focal point in this historic building.

2019 National Day of Service

For the 2019 DAR National Day Of Service, the Little-Rock Centennial Chapter prepared and wrapped 145 Veteran Shoe Boxes for the Veterans Shoe Box Project. Our chapter coordinates with the Voluntary Services Office at Central Arkansas VA Healthcare System on this special project. The boxes, along with many others that will be collected throughout the area, will be distributed by our chapter to veterans this December. We are honored to participate in this great project again this year, and look forward to many more years of participating.

Mt. Holly Cemetery Memorial Day Project

Mount Holly Cemetery in Little Rock is a historic landmark, and it was an honor for some members of the Little Rock Centennial Chapter to participate in placing flags all through the cemetery Memorial Day weekend.  The flags will remain until after July 4th to honor all men and women veterans buried at Mount Holly.  Mount Holly has 500 veterans from all American wars from the Revolutionary War to the first Iraqi war.
